Thank you, Em. I've been praying before bed and in the morning more specifically to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We forget that it's a new outpouring every day and we need only ask. I've been going through a sad and low energy season. This prayer has helped me feel lighter and give me breakthroughs. God provides even if he doesn't completely remove the thorn. I experience moments of healing and peace and joy when I simply stay close to the Lord.

Thanks for sharing this Julie… I think this journey of faith is all about daily returning, daily refilling, daily abiding again and again.

A great devotion! After numerous years of teaching Scripture and listening to sermons I never heard the "virgin" story as a message about faith. I am saving this one. Superb! Your interpretations are so refreshing. Thank you! -Ray in Michigan-

Absolutely beautiful...I love it!

God I Surrender to you each and everyday. Sometimes I must Surrender multiple times a day...Thy will be done (not mine). Take my will and my life! Guide me in my recovery! Show me how to live. I pray for God's will and the knowledge and power to carry out God's will. This is the oil I have and need to stay Thirsty and hungry for the word of God. How nice this is to feel serene and peaceful and at ease, while being happy, safe and well with the Holy Spirit dwelling within me. Amen! 🙏💪😃❣️

Amen and amen. I think maturity in our walk with Jesus is coming to the realisation that again and again for the rest of our lives we keep returning, keep abiding, keep repenting, keep pursuing, keep trusting... each and every moment, on repeat, forever until heaven!

Once again...loved your article. I've always been intrigued by the story of the 10 virgins, and heard it preached or taught on from the 'be ready' perspective - BUT I LOVED you linking it with not being able to borrow other's fire! For too long 'we' have thought that if we hang out with those on fire, it means we must be on fire too. You revealed a sad but life changing truth - we can't borrow fire from others, we need our own! So so good! Keeping this one!
