It blows my mind, breaks my heart & brings me to my knees, that He who knew no sin became sin , taking not just my guilt but the world’s guilt upon himself , plunging himself into a darkness I daren’t even imagine, a separation from His father breaking a Unity with his Father weighted down also with our sin …..just dwelling on such a depth of love is overwhelming in the mix of emotions I feel . Such Love ….
That moment must have been Jesus' highest point of suffering. No matter what suffering we come up against in life, nothing will ever be as bad as being abandoned by God the Father, especially unreservedly, and after perfect union. So when we are in the depths of despair, what a comfort to know Jesus has been there too -- and more!

Wow! You've captured this beautifully 🙏
Thanks Jonathan.
I see that Jesus wasn’t holding back from us but was willing to carry the weight of suffering for us too.
It means a lot to me that Jesus experienced abandonment so that I would never have to. I can always know His nearness and feel safe.
I can have hope that He is present in my suffering and practice being aware of His presence everywhere I go and continue to extend His love to others.
