Yes! My pastor often quotes Eugene Peterson: "Long term obedience in the same direction". In my experience this is greatly helped by staying connected with a grace-filled faith community.
Yes! I love that book (and using the title as a frequent reminder). And couldn't agree more. Intentional, gathering with other believers (love that you say grace-filled faith community) is integral!
Thank you for replying. There are many pastors who I listen to that present a message that might last for almost an hour: Chuck Swindoll, David Jeremiah. and Charles Stanley. There is also a pastor at a Methodist church in Saginaw who I can listen to and want more. Her passion, eloquence, and preparation are amazing and effective. Your comment does reveal to me your own passion to share the Word. That will engage your audience. I have heard several Lutheran pastors who leave people wondering what they said. Awful. Continue to share the Precious Word with warmth, meaning, clarity, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. -Ray in Michigan-
Beautifully written. Simple, yet profound images and applications are so important and meaningful. Why is it that some pastors feel the need to fill twenty minutes, or more, in a sermon when five or ten minutes would be perfect? Thank you for providing a lesson in truth, clarity, and thought. -Ray in Michigan-
Thanks Ray. You say that about pastors but when I preach I tend to end up more like 30 mins+ if I have my way! I just get so excited about whatever passage we're looking at.

I will! Thanks Ray.
Worth reading again! Thank you also for the prayer at the end.
I’m so glad, and you’re welcome!
That was soo good!

Thank you so much...I want to be and stay connected to Jesus. I desire to hear HIS instructions and walk in His mercy.
I like how you mentioned something about our shattered pieces (trauma etc) can be hurtful to others if stepped on?? Something like that xx
Amen and amen, me too. I want to stay connected to Jesus. Here's to helping each other do that!
Great words. Thank you.
