Lord,
Here I am—in the middle.
Not at the fresh beginning,
Not yet at the satisfying end.
Just here. Somewhere in between.
The spark of starting has settled.
The rhythm’s not always steady.
Some days I feel full of faith.
Other days, I forget to pray until the night creeps in.
But You are here in the middle moments, too.
You don’t just meet me at the mountaintop or the lowest valley—
You walk with me mile by mile,
In the ordinary, unseen, sometimes weary middle.
So today, I offer You my in-between.
My halfway hopes. My slow progress.
My questions. My quiet wins.
My distractions and my devotion.
Help me not to despise the middle,
But to meet You in it.
To remember that formation often happens here—
Not just in the dramatic breakthroughs,
But in the daily choosing to keep going.
Keep me rooted in You,
Strengthen what feels weak,
Refine what’s growing weary,
And remind me that Your Spirit is never halfway present.
You are fully here—even now.
Thank You for being the God of the middle.
Amen.
Thank you for the reminder, that God is always present, even when things seem mundane. I have come to realize this more and more, and I am thankful for it.
Your prayer reminded me of this popular quotes amongst weight lifters "The work gets done in the gym, but the muscles grow while you rest."
Basically the results don't happen while in the gym pressing weights, they manifest when the body is at rest, being bored and idle, basically.
